WINTER GRAY NAILS | Trust Fund Beauty Polish in Zero Carbs

Since the new year is upon us, many have been thinking of ways we can make changes in our appearances. Some of us have changed our hair. Others are thinking of adding more color to our wardrobe. And if you're like me and looking to make changes on a smaller scale first, you're up to changing your lipstick and nail polish shade. Switching up from your usual nude/taupe polish doesn't sound like too big of a risk, right?

I was looking to try a new color altogether. And luckily for me, I received a nail polish from Trust Fund Beauty in my Ipsy bag unlike any shade I owned. At first I wasn't too excited about it. With a name like Zero Carbs (to a woman that LOVES her carbs) and a shade that didn't wow me when I looked at the bottle, I wasn't sure what to expect. But thankfully, I was pleasantly surprised.

Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in Zero Carbs described as a chic, cool-toned gray, plays it safe in a major way. It appears slate gray in the bottle and the name totally suggests that you can indulge as you desire. But baby, when you pull out what you think is going to be just another gray polish that does nothing for your newly adventurous nail polish palette, Zero Carbs shows up and out!

Don't let the name fool you like it did me. Zero Carbs packs a punch with the first stroke of color and can really satisfy your craving in that one application. This polish applies smoothly and dries very quickly with no fuss (or those annoying bubbles that appear when I'm moving too fast). However, I did apply two coats of polish to make sure each of my nails were uniform in opacity. Am I the only one that leaves entire strips of nail unpolished on the sides? Oh, I am? Umkay.

Well as you can see, the gray polish I thought I was getting turned out to be a bold lilac-tinged gray like no other polish I've ever worn. The finish is smooth and semi-glossy even without a top coat. And though this polish chips after a week and a half, I didn't mind. Since the color was also losing it's luster, I added another coat and will be rocking it one more week.
