Review | Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick + Brush

foundation stick for brown skin

Hello fellow beauty enthusiasts!  As you may already know from my Instagram feed, I recently received the Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick and Brush from Influenster. As someone who has been using foundation sticks to conceal during the warmer months, I could not wait to try this product. And since I told you guys that I would soon be sharing my thoughts on the Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick in Warm Almond, I decided I'd talk about it here on the blog just for you!

Magnetic Manicure: Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color

Have you guys had the pleasure of having a magnetic manicure yet?  Well in one of the latest nail trends, magnetic polishes allow for a unique, 3-D finish and people are falling in love with it!  Thanks to Influenster, I was able to try my hand at this magnetic nail polish trend myself.  In my Influenster Summer Beauty Voxbox, I received Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color in Graphite Gravity.

The Application. Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color is to be applied precisely in these two steps:
1.  Apply 1 coat of base coat.  Shake Magnetic Nail Color to activate.  Remove overcap with magnet and set aside.  Apply 1 coat of Magnetic Nail Color to all 10 nails and let dry.
2.  Apply a thick second coat of color to 1 nail and immediately hold the built-in magnet over the nail.  Rest the guide just below the cuticle without touching the wet nail polish.  Hold for 10 seconds.  Repeat for all 10 nails and let dry.  Finish with top coat.

Tips to remember when applying this polish:
-Make sure the second coat of polish is thick and even.  If not, the 3-D effect may not be as detailed as you would like.
-When using the magnetic guide, place it so that the magnet can be evenly applied onto the nail.
-Be extremely careful when resting the guide below the cuticle.  You do not want the magnet to get stuck to the nail!

My thoughts:  After testing the Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color for the first time, I have fallen in love with it.  It is unlike any other nail polish I've tried and is such a drastic change from the pink polishes I normally wear.  The 3-D effect definitely stands out, as many people have complimented my nails in my short time of wearing it.  The application was easy enough, though I had to re-do a couple of nails because I let the magnet get stuck to the wet polish.  And at the price of $9.99, I would definitely purchase this product again.  This bottle, however, is 0.31 fl. oz. so I think it would last me for some time.  If anything, I may just grab another bottle to try out one of the other shades.  Overall, I'm very impressed with this polish!

Available at chain drug stores, food stores, and mass merchandisers nationally.  Learn more about this product at www.sallyhansen.com.

Disclaimer: I received the Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster.  The thoughts I share about this product, however, are my own.

Pink Wednesday: Featuring Kiss Nail Dress

Hey ladies and gents! For this Pink Wednesday, I decided to paint my nails with one of my favorite shades of pink, which is Wet n Wild Megalast Color in Tropicana.  I also used The Kiss Nail Dress set I received in my Influenster Love VoxBox (compliments of Influenster) on my nails as accents.  Remember these?

I have these as accents on my nails and toes.  Check them out!

I'm really loving this nail design for the week.  Tropicana by Sinful Colors is already one of my favorite polishes and pairing it with the Kiss Nail Dress in leopard makes the manicure even better.

The Kiss Nail Dress instant polish is very easy to apply!  They are quite similar to the Sally's version that I often use, except the Kiss version actually includes adhesives for toes.  This was never a problem for me, because the Sally's pack usually has nail decals large enough to fit my toes, but it's nice to be able to eliminate the guesswork!  They haven't chipped once and with an application of topcoat, they shine and stick for as long as you would like.  Needless to say, I will be purchasing more of the Kiss Nail Dress packs.

Have you tried the Kiss Nail Dress Fashion that Sticks yet?  How are you wearing your nails this week?

Disclosure:  I received the "Kiss Nail Dress Fashion that Sticks" complimentary from Influenster for testing and review purposes. I was under no obligation to write a review for this product.
