Fall Fashion Lookbook | Dressed Down

Hey ladies! Are you as excited about the fall weather as I am? Though fall has been in effect for quite some time in most areas, it finally feels like fall in the south. 'Tis true. Folks have finally swapped their rainbows for more appropriate footwear and Uggs are making appearances all around my neck of the woods. I love the fall weather for the warm and cozy styling options such as sweaters and boots. I also like that I can switch seamlessly through seasons by simply layering my clothing by adding blazers and jackets to my wardrobe.

Since I shared a few styling ideas for getting all dolled up in my last fashion post, I'm sharing some dressed-down options this week.  With the help of my trusty Polyvore account, I created a little style inspiration for the "dressed down" portion of my Fall Fashion Lookbook below.

Wanna look and feel fancy without rocking heels or getting dressed up?  This statement-making "I'm So Fancy" sweatshirt from New Look is so necessary for such occasions. Pair this top with a pair of dark skinnies and these textured Nike Dunks and you're ready to roll to just about any chill location--the football game, kickback with friends, or just out and about. And since functionality plays a major factor with this look, I decided to add this fab Michael Kors crossbody bag to the mix. For me, a crossbody bag makes life so much easier--especially if I'm out and about with the little ones. Who really has enough arms to run around and handle business with children and carry a large bag anyways? Lol.

Now this, ladies and gentlemen, is my chill "going to the game" look. I have the American Eagle long-sleeved graphic tee under the classic varsity jacket for that whole "school spirit" feel. I even threw in the matching New Balance sneakers (which are super comfortable) for good measure. And if you absolutely have to carry a bag to the game, make it an easy-to-carry crossbody. Make sure to keep that EOS lip balm on your person at all times. Chapped lips are naturally an unwanted side-effect of fall winds and cool evenings. I think I have more than a couple of these babies floating around in the bottom of my purse for that very reason.

This look may be my favorite from the entire collection. Since I'm obsessed with pairing plaid and gingham printed button ups with blazers this season, I thought this top and blazer would make for great inspiration. Doesn't this Cambridge satchel from ShopBop go nicely with the top + blazer pairing? I also have these Modcloth steampunk riding boots on my current wishlist and hope I am able to grab these up soon! Is anyone else out there a big fan of these boots? This style seems quite popular, as I saw about a dozen pairs of these over the Thanksgiving holiday lol. Overall, I think this look is  the most versatile, as one could easily put on heels and dress this look up. This, ladies, is effortlessly cute + chic!

Am I the only person that tries to make florals work, even in the fall? This peplum style black floral top from River Island made it all possible for this look. And though I know many folks think it's absurd to wear short sleeves in the fall, I find it easier to layer with short-sleeved options. This definitely works in your favor if you're going somewhere that's relatively warm indoors. Once I added the black pants to the look (which give a slimming silhouette), I just had to pair everything with these fab boots from Modcloth. To top off the look, I added cute floral accessories, a pretty mauve lipstick, and some big beautiful curls.
