MANICure Monday: Sinful Colors Ruby Ruby

Hey everybody! I hope everyone is doing well on this first Monday in November and I hope everyone's week is off to a beautiful start! I'm happy to be able to start my week off with a fresh manicure. Jj slept long enough this morning for me to grab a fresh coat of something for my fingers and toes. For now, we'll just stick with the sharing of the manicure.  I didn't do any designs or anything spectacular. However, knowing me-- I did add a little something spark-tacular to my red mani.

I pulled out Sinful Colors Ruby Ruby, a beautiful shade of red that I received from the lovely blogger Ebony of Longing4Length a while back. Thank you so much, lady!  Isn't this shade just perfect for the season?

I don't know about you guys, but I like wearing red.  Many of the items in my wardrobe are red, I love rocking red lipstick, and I adore a red manicure.  In fact, when I used to get my nails done back in the day, my signature manicure was a red one with a freehand design on the accent ring finger.  However, red manicures (as well as red lipsticks) don't translate well with some people.  It's strange that simply wearing red nail polish or red lipstick will make people think badly of you or judge your character negatively.  As for me, it takes more than a shade of lipstick or color choice of nail polish for me to determine what type of person someone is.  But anyways...

Remember how I stated at the top of the post that I added something spark-tacular to the mix?  Well, I did my usual accent nail with the glitter-filled Sephora for OPI nail polish Spark-tacular. Check it out!

Are you a fan of the glitter?
What are your nails looking like this week?

And just a quick note to piggy-back off of a few things I mentioned above-- we must be careful of how we judge others.  For instance, just because I like to wear makeup and enjoy doing my nails doesn't mean that's all I'm capable of doing.  A woman can be God-fearing and love the Lord, educated, cultured, can take care of her children, cook, clean, know how to please her husband, and know how to have a good time alone or in company ALL AT THE SAME TIME-- and still like to keep herself looking nice. Always remember, there's more to a person than what we see on the outside. Thank you guys for continuing to check me out and rock with me up here in the blogosphere! It really means a lot :-)

MANICure Monday: O.P.I. Nicki Minaj & Kiss Nail Dress

Happy Monday, loves! How is everyone doing?  I hope all the fellow mommies had a wonderful Mother's Day on yesterday and that everyone's week is off to a great start!  As for me, I had a great weekend and now my week is off to a bright start, thanks to these little O.P.I. nail polish minis from the O.P.I. Nicki Minaj collection that launched last Spring.

Now to be honest with you ladies, I almost forgot I had these polishes.  They were like five seconds from being tossed! Isn't that sad?  I try to sort through my stash every couple of months, as I like to rotate the polishes I have on display every so often.  If I don't, I will forget I have a certain polish and I don't want to purchase the same shades (or similar ones) over and over again. So while I was looking through my polishes, I saw the minis I had grabbed on a whim from the O.P.I. Nicki Minaj Collection at the bottom of the container, along with a couple bottles of Bon-Bons. I picked out "Did It On 'Em" and "Fly" from the set of four and decided I'd better use them before the color started to separate!

O.P.I. Nicki Minaj Nail Polish in "Did It On 'Em" is a bright (but not neon) yellowish green shade. I don't own another color quite like this one so I decided to go ahead and try it out!

I felt that O.P.I. Nicki Minaj Nail Polish in "Fly" would contrast "Did It On 'Em" nicely, as it is a deep muted teal shade. So I chose to pair these two for this week's mani.

And while I was digging out of the stash and trying to stray away from glitter for a change, I decided to use my leopard Kiss Nail Dress strips for accent nails.  Besides, I purchased them a minute ago and they will eventually use their stickiness if I don't use the remainder of them soon.

So what are your nails looking like this week, ladies? Are you into a particular manicure trend lately? Have you purchased any special edition or limited edition polishes before?  If so or even if not, I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments!

Manicure Monday: Coral + Sparkle

Happy Monday, ladies! I hope you all enjoyed your first day of April and had a beautiful Easter weekend!  Mine was nice and eventful, as I was able to see some of my closest friends and family members.  All in all I have been having a great Spring so far.  I'm just hoping that the weather warms up just a tad so that I'm able to start wearing dresses and sandals soon!

As coral is one of my favorite shades of Spring, I'm way past ready to wear coral toes in my sandals.  And though I might have not been able to rock them yet, I've gotten a head start on rocking coral with my nails.  For this week's MANICure, I painted my nails with Wet n Wild Megalast Nail Color in Tropicalia, which is a beautifully bright shade of coral.

And of course it wouldn't be me without a little bling to the manicure.
For the accent nail, I added O.P.I. Nail Polish in Servin' Up Sparkle.

While this is a lovely color, it seems that my camera phone did not do it justice.
Check it out with the flash:

So what are your manicures looking like this week ladies?  Did you play it safe with familiar colors and acrylics or did you go bold this week? Did you paint your nails in pastels for Easter?  Perhaps you decided to skip the polish altogether.  Either way, I would love to hear all about the details in the comments. Let me know!

MANICure Monday: Superstar Sparkle

Happy Monday, ladies! I hope everyone's week is off to a beautiful start!  I'm starting my Monday morning off with another Manicure Monday link-up. This week, I decided to abandon my bright colors and my beloved pink hues to try something different.  I recently grabbed up this Pure Ice Nail Polish in Superstar (as I did not have a white nail polish in my stash) so decided I would give it some play this week.

While I didn't want to wear just an all-white mani, and I didn't want to resort to doing a colored accent nail, I decided to add glitter to my mani with O.P.I. Spark de Triomphe (from the Serena Williams Collection).

And for an accent, I left the ring fingers white.  I guess that would make it like a reverse-accent situation!

So what are your manicures looking like this week ladies?  Did you play it safe with familiar colors and acrylics or did you go bold this week?  Perhaps you decided to skip the polish altogether.  Either way, I would love to hear all about the details in the comments. Let me know!

MANIcure Mondays: Hulk Smash + Sparkle

Hey ladies! I'm beginning my weekly blogging yet again with my fabulous manicure.  I wanted to run back to my comfort zone of pretty pink and sparkles, but Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Savage has definitely done a number on my nails.   The blue stains from previous weeks have yet to be lifted from my nail bed, so I decided to go with a darker shade that I rarely wear.  Sometimes I look at my stash and think it's crazy that I have so many polishes, yet I always use the same five colors.  So this week, I decided to introduce you to my new best friend,  Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Irish Green aka Hulk Smash.  Since the color is such a true green, and my children say the color reminds them of the Hulk, I'm now calling this mani my Hulk Smash look :-)

And while I may have tried to venture outside of the box with the color, old habits die hard.  I was not able to get away from my love of sparkle.  So, yep.  You guessed it.  I'm still sticking to O.P.I.'s Servin' Up Sparkle like nobody's business.  You guys already know by now I'm smitten by my sparkles.

So what are your manicures looking like this week, ladies?  Tell me all about them in the comments!

Pink Manicure of the Week

Yes, ladies!  I have another pink manicure to share with you all this week.  I originally had not planned to share a manicure post this week because this look is very similar to the last manicure I shared.  But when I saw that Mimi and Lynn had a Manicure Monday link-up going on this week, I just had to take part!  These ladies love a good manicure just as much as I do and they have began a weekly link-up to share their love of pretty nails with the blogosphere.

In my normal mani fashion, I have a pretty pink polish with a touch of glitter on the accent nail.  Since I wanted to partially embrace colors of the season and add a touch of "vamp" to my manicure, I decided to add a rich burgundy to my accent nail under the glitter.  For this manicure I've used e.l.f. Essentials Nail Polish in Bubblegum Pink, Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Rich in Heart, and O.P.I. Nail Polish in Servin' Up Sparkle (from the Serena Williams Collection from waaaay back).  Check out the polishes in the pictures below with and without flash.  It's crazy how much difference flash makes!

How are you rocking your nails this week?

Pink Wednesdays: For Bubblegum Pink Lovers!

So I thought I was going to take a break from purchasing pink polishes.  That ship sailed when I shopped around the elf website a few weeks back.  Though I'm still shopping my stash, I planned on grabbing elf's new HD blushes a while ago.  And since I had a half off studio coupon, I decided I could stand to add a new polish or two to the mix.  One of the polishes I purchased was Bubblegum Pink.  The color looked so beautifully vibrant in the bottle, I quickly moved on from my obsession with Sinful Colors polish in Soul Mate and decided to give Bubblegum Pink some play.

While I really love this color, I felt like it was missing something.  I haven't had any sparkles in my manicure for a few weeks now, so I decided to use my O.P.I. Servin' Up Sparkle from the Serena Williams Glam Slam Collection for an accent nail.

What color is your manicure this week? Does it sparkle?
