MANICure | Revlon Parfumerie in Pink Pineapple

revlon nail polish

I know it's been a while, but please don't get it twisted. You can still catch me on any given Wednesday rocking a varied shade of pink in some form or fashion. Whether it's in my top, bag, or makeup and accessories, I'm still on it lol. It doesn't matter if I'm "sitting at the table with the cool kids" or cooling it by myself. And if you've been reading here for a while, I love to show off a pretty pink manicure. This week is no different!

While I didn't search to the ends of earth for mani design inspiration, I did take a stroll to my local drugstores to sale stalk. And in my stalking, I found a treat on the clearance aisle. Though I'm probably tardy to the party yet again with this one, I got my hand on some of those beloved Revlon Parfumerie Nail Polishes. While they originally retail for $5.99 each at Walgreens, I grabbed up a gift set containing China Flower and Pink Pineapple for only $5. Win!

So y'all already know I had to try out Pink Pineapple first, right? For starters, I was too curious about the scent of this polish. And this particular shade resembles one of my old favorites from the OPI for Nicki collection. So when I tell you I am impressed with my manicure, please believe it honey. I'm loving it!

Since this polish has somewhat of a milky consistency, I did about three coats of polish. And while it pained me to watch each streaky layer dry, I just knew it would come out cuter than I could imagine. It did! And not only that, my nails now have a sweet pineapple smell to them! It's not an overpowering scent, but a small hint of fruity fragrance heaven. Now if only I can remember not to sniff them openly in public today lol.

Pink Wednesday: 3D Pearl Manicure

Happy Wednesday, beautiful people! If you have been keeping up with this blog for a while, you already know that we like to wear pink around these parts come Wednesday. And since it's been a long time since I've done a manicure post, I knew I had to share my current manicure with you guys.

If you follow me on Twitter, you might have seen the excitement I showed when receiving this Academy of Color Embellish 3D Manicure Set from Kemba of Beauty By Kemba.  I had expressed how much I wanted to try the "caviar manicure" a while back on my Facebook Fan Page, so receiving this package from Kemba was right on time.  Not only was I able to try the caviar manicure trend, I was able to try it using my favorite color!

I was hyped to see that creating the caviar manicure is quite simple.  All I had to do was apply two coats of the polish to each nail, then pour the beads onto the nails while still wet. Then, after applying the beads, gently press the beads down into the polish.  After about 15 minutes or so, the manicure was dry and I was good to go!

And since this was my first time trying this set, I decided to just do a caviar accent on my ring fingers.  You guys know much I like a simple manicure with an accent nail, right?  It made the manicure so much easier to do, by the way.  For the finishing touches, I added Out the Door Top Coat to my manicure.

What are your nails looking like this week, ladies?
Have you ever tried the caviar nails trend? Love it or hate it?
I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments!

Pink Wednesday: Polka-Dots & Neon Pink

Happy Pink Wednesday, beautiful people!  I hope all is well with everyone!  This week, I got a little behind on my Manicure Monday post, so I decided to showcase it for Pink Wednesday since it is pink. To fully embrace pink this week, I used the brightest shade of pink I own-- Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Fusion Neon.  I tell you, the camera on my phone just doesn't do this color justice.  It is shockingly bright! Fusion Neon is certainly an attention-grabber.

Now when I chose Pure Ice in Superstar to be my accent nail color,  I had no clue what I was gonna do with it.  I loved the way my mani came out the last time I used it, but I didn't want to use any glitter this week  (trust me, the pink is bright enough).  That's when I gave these little polka-dots a try.

So ladies, did you get your nails done this week?  Did you do them yourself in beautifully bright colors like me?  Or did you pass on the polish altogether?  Perhaps there is a new mani trend that you are hoping to try (like the caviar nails I plan on doing soon).  Either way, I'd love for you to chat it up with me in the comments!

MANICure Monday: Delusions of Pink Grandeur

Hey ladies!  I hope you've all had a very blessed Inauguration Day as well as an inspiring Martin Luther King Jr Day!  I've totally enjoyed my day.  I've done a lot of planning, cleaning, re-evaluating, and working on these dreams of mine.  In the middle of all of that, I realized that on this very day, ten years ago, I officially started dating my husband.  Yep, I've been with my J for ten whole years!  So since I'm in a sweet, lovey-dovey mood, I decided to revert to what I know best- a pretty pink mani.  My nails are all dressed up in love again, y'all!

For this week's mani, I used Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Cream Pink, Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Neon Pink and NYC Nail Polish in Starry Silver Glitter.

Do you like?

So what are your manicures looking like this week ladies?  Did you play it safe with familiar colors and acrylics or did you go bold this week?  Perhaps you decided to skip the polish altogether.  Either way, I would love to hear all about the details in the comments. Let me know!

Pink Wednesdays: For Bubblegum Pink Lovers!

So I thought I was going to take a break from purchasing pink polishes.  That ship sailed when I shopped around the elf website a few weeks back.  Though I'm still shopping my stash, I planned on grabbing elf's new HD blushes a while ago.  And since I had a half off studio coupon, I decided I could stand to add a new polish or two to the mix.  One of the polishes I purchased was Bubblegum Pink.  The color looked so beautifully vibrant in the bottle, I quickly moved on from my obsession with Sinful Colors polish in Soul Mate and decided to give Bubblegum Pink some play.

While I really love this color, I felt like it was missing something.  I haven't had any sparkles in my manicure for a few weeks now, so I decided to use my O.P.I. Servin' Up Sparkle from the Serena Williams Glam Slam Collection for an accent nail.

What color is your manicure this week? Does it sparkle?

Pink Wednesday: Sinful Colors in Soul Mate

Imagine finding a soul mate in the drugstore beauty aisle!  That happened to me recently! Well, sort of.  Let me tell you ladies all about it:

I've been looking for a pink polish to wear during the fall season.  While fall may bring the opportunity for us to wear new, bold colors in our manicures, I still love having a shade of pink to fall back on.  I just love pink nail polish like that!  Anyways, while perusing the aisles at my local CVS, I glance over at the Sinful Colors display.  As you may know from earlier Pink Wednesday posts, I love Sinful Colors nail polish.  They have such a variety of colors, the applications are long-lasting, and the prices are very affordable.  That's when I found the polish of my most recent beauty dreams.  Soul Mate, from the Pretty-in-Pink Collection, instantly caught my eye.  Looking at the bottle, Soul Mate appeared to be a shade that could easily pass as every day nail wear.    So I rushed to the counter with that baby, checked out, and brought it on home with me!

As I applied this polish, I notice Soul Mate to be a muted pink shade.  It even appears to be a bit mauve in low light.  I gave my nails two quick coats of polish and was impressed with the results.  The color isn't loud, so it doesn't pose as an image-related distraction for my professional divas.  But it still gives off that soft, feminine vibe I like in a pink manicure.  Check it out with and without the flash below:

What do you ladies think of this shade?  Would you wear it?

Pink Wednesday: Featuring Kiss Nail Dress

Hey ladies and gents! For this Pink Wednesday, I decided to paint my nails with one of my favorite shades of pink, which is Wet n Wild Megalast Color in Tropicana.  I also used The Kiss Nail Dress set I received in my Influenster Love VoxBox (compliments of Influenster) on my nails as accents.  Remember these?

I have these as accents on my nails and toes.  Check them out!

I'm really loving this nail design for the week.  Tropicana by Sinful Colors is already one of my favorite polishes and pairing it with the Kiss Nail Dress in leopard makes the manicure even better.

The Kiss Nail Dress instant polish is very easy to apply!  They are quite similar to the Sally's version that I often use, except the Kiss version actually includes adhesives for toes.  This was never a problem for me, because the Sally's pack usually has nail decals large enough to fit my toes, but it's nice to be able to eliminate the guesswork!  They haven't chipped once and with an application of topcoat, they shine and stick for as long as you would like.  Needless to say, I will be purchasing more of the Kiss Nail Dress packs.

Have you tried the Kiss Nail Dress Fashion that Sticks yet?  How are you wearing your nails this week?

Disclosure:  I received the "Kiss Nail Dress Fashion that Sticks" complimentary from Influenster for testing and review purposes. I was under no obligation to write a review for this product.

Check out my current NOTW!  I got the idea to re-do my nails pink every Wednesday from the site On Wednesdays We Wear Pink just like the "Plastics" did in the movie Mean Girls.

Here are the polishes I used, featuring one of my favorites, Pink Forever by Sinful Colors.
